Legend has it that a woman lived alone in the woods of Taintrux.
The villagers feared her as much as they sought her help, for she knew plants better than anyone and could heal or curse at will.
Accused of witchcraft, she was hunted down, then vanished without a trace, swallowed by the forest’s mist.
Since that day, it is said that on certain nights, near the Pierre de Laître — a large rock overlooking the valley — one can hear faint whispers and glimpse a shadow watching over the forest.
