The Darou
THE LEGEND
The Darou is a legendary creature from the Vosges, the local equivalent of the famous dahu.
It resembles a chamois with the tail of a cow or a goat, large pointed ears, and billy goat horns.
Its most distinctive feature is that it has two shorter legs on one side — either the left or the right — which makes it unable to turn around or descend into the plains.
As a result, it is doomed to walk in circles along the mountain slopes, always in the same direction.
The legend is mostly used to trick naïve visitors, who are invited to take part in a "Darou hunt" to prove their bravery.

THE PUZZLE
